" Frank  and Leah "

were found dead in the back seat of their car from  gunshot wounds to the head.  Investigators at the scene estimated they died around  10:30 am on Friday morning, May 11, 2007  in what appeared to be a  murder/suicide .

Frank, 86 and shaking with Parkinson's disease,  was barely able to hold a 7mm semi automatic hand gun steady while he shot the love of his life, Leah,  82 and no longer able to talk due to advanced Alzheimer's disease,  in the head then turned the gun on himself.

Frank left a suicide note explaining they had always planned on "going together" if one of them became terminally ill.  He saw no other dignified way to end their lives as they had always planned.  Family, friends, colleagues, partners and parishioners were all terribly shocked and saddened by their tragic and sudden deaths.

Memorial Services Were Held Friday June 15, 2007 Church of the Redeemer, 222 South Palm Ave Sarasota, FL 34236 (941)955-4263

A portion of their ashes were planted underneath 2 white rose plants, in the garden they both loved, the Church of the Redeemer Memorial Rose Garden.  The remainder of Frank's ashes were interred with our ancestors, at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, New Jersey, next to his parents and grandparents.  Leah's ashes were interred next to her first husband and father of her children, Carlton Shaw, in Birmingham, AL.

You are listening to the Litanie Lauretanae K. 195 (Litany of Lordeo) Part One, "Kyrie",  on the album "An Evening With Mozart", sung by Key Chorale from Sarasota, Florida, with whom Frank sang for so many years.
